As we prepare to close our doors for another fantastic year, we are thrilled to introduce a few exciting updates designed to support our students' well-being and academic success. Next year, we are focusing on how students live and learn best by restructuring our daily schedule and adopting proven, brain-friendly teaching strategies.
Moving to a "Balanced Day" Schedule
To maximize learning and give students better opportunities to recharge, our school day is shifting to a Balanced Day model. Instead of the traditional short recess and single long lunch, our day will now be divided into three equal learning blocks separated by two extended nutrition and play breaks.
Why the change?
- Sustained Energy: Two distinct healthy meal breaks keep students fueled and focused throughout the entire day.
- Deeper Focus: Longer, uninterrupted learning blocks allow teachers to dive deeper into hands-on projects and collaborative work without constant transitions.
- Better Play: Extended 40-to-50-minute breaks give students meaningful time to play outside, burn off energy, and truly decompress.
We are incredibly excited about these positive shifts and can't wait to welcome our students back to a balanced, brain-friendly environment. Keep an eye on your inbox next week for more information.
