Jean Lumb

Jean Lumb was a community leader and the first Chinese Canadian woman to receive the Order of Canada. She advocated for the Chinese community in Toronto and across the country and was recognized for her role in changing Canada’s immigration laws.

The local community was invited to submit potential names for the new school. The TDSB’s School Naming Committee got over 200 submissions. The Board of Trustees approved the selected name in May 2017.
