Welcome to Kindergarten at Kensington Community School!
Registration for English kindergarten programs begins on January 6, 2026. If you have a child that will be 4 years of age by December 31, 2026 (born in 2022), they are eligible to attend full-day Junior Kindergarten in September 2026. You have the option of registering your child in-person or online.
- only parents or legal guardians can register a child.
- in person registration is by appointment at 416-393-1290; online registration is accessible at https://www.tdsb.on.ca/earlyyears/kindergartenmonth
- kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year begins in January, 2026. Students enrolling for Junior Kindergarten must be born in 2022.
- we will have a Welcome to Kindergarten orientation for families registered with us.
The following documents are required to complete the registration:
- Proof of age (birth certificate, Canadian passport, Canadian Citizenship card or certificate or
baptismal record)
- Proof of address, including any two of the following current/ORIGINAL documents: Utility bill
(e.g. hydro, gas, water), cable TV, internet, or home phone bill, insurance policy, mortgage
statement, rental or lease agreement or deed, purchase and sale agreement, property tax bill or notice of tax assessment
- Proof of immunization
- Verification of date of arrival, if your child was not born in Canada. Families who are permanent residents and refugee claimants may register directly at the school. Children without immigration status are welcome in our schools but will need to visit the International Programs and Admissions Office at 5050 Yonge Street, for a TDSB school admission letter
Registration Process:
- step 1: register online
- step 2: please wait, we will connect with you to process your registration and review documents.
- step 3: once registration is complete, you will be invited to the kindergarten orientation.
Out-of-Area Admissions:
We accept students from out of area at our school:
- the school may admit any students from out-of-area.
- students residing within the school’s attendance area are invited to register early so that we have an idea of enrolment numbers.
