MORATORIUM AND FINAL EXAMS SCHEDULE

Please see our Semester 2 Exam schedule for students which is located on the Leaside High School Exam Schedule Website.  

Prior to exams, Moratorium takes place June 13-18, 2024.  During the Moratorium, some students will have exams; details will be shared by their classroom teacher.  Students will not receive any new work or assignments during this period.  Final Exams will take place from June 19-25, 2024.

🐾 New Service Dog Introduction

We are excited to introduce a valuable addition to our school community! Starting December 18, 2023, a specially trained service dog will be joining us.

 

Please note:

The service dog is not a pet and will be easily identifiable by wearing a vest.

When the dog is wearing the vest, she is working and should not be disturbed.

To ensure an undisturbed learning environment, the dog will primarily be stationed in the Guidance office.

The dog will always be leashed when entering or leaving the school premises.

Accommodations will be made for students with severe dog allergies.

GRADE 8 0PEN HOUSE

On Thursday, November 30th from 6:30-8:00 PM, we will be hosting our Grade 8 Open House. Although we are closed to Out-of-Area Admissions, it's still very important for us to highlight our amazing Grade 9 programming and offerings to the incoming Grade 8 families.

The Agenda:

6:15-6:30 PM - Parents Arrive (Welcome Music - LHS Music)

6:30-7:00 PM - Plenary Session (Admin, Parent Council, StudCo and LAA)

7:00-7:05 PM - Musical Interlude (FI/EF Parents to Remain in Auditorium for Presentation)

7:05-8:00 PM - Self-Directed Tours (Parents to Visit Subject Area Presentations)


 

Parent/Guardian Teacher Interview

Our Semester 1 Parent/Guardian/Caregiver-Teacher Interviews will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

We have two (2) available blocks of time:

· 1:00-3:15 PM, these appointments will be VIRTUAL (teachers will email a link), and

· 5:30-7:30 PM, these appointments will be IN-PERSON

 *Interviews will be 5 minutes*

We will be using School Appointments Online booking portal (https://leasidehs.schoolappointments.com)

Please see this October 26, 2023, School Appointments – Parent Instructions sheet for information regarding how to register for an account, as well as how to book an interview time.

You may select appointment times for your child beginning on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 12:00 pm

Complete a self directed tour of the school and speak to Curriculum Leaders about courses your grade 9 student is enrolled in this year

LHS 2023-2024 School Council Members Election

The first School Council Meeting for 2023-2024 is set for Thursday, September 28th in the school library, beginning at 6:30pm.

As per the School Council constitution, the first School Council Meeting will involve the election of the School Council Members, followed by the Executive Officers’ election. Here are the Self Nomination Form (page 1) and the Nomination Form (page 2) . Please note the submission deadline for these forms is Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Return forms to the office marked Rita Kostopoulos Re: School Council Elections or submit via email to rita.kostopoulos@tdsb.on.ca by Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Please note: Leaside High School is currently closed to Out of Area Admissions for all programs (English, Extended French, French Immersion); therefore, to attend Leaside High School (English Program only), you must live in the Leaside High School catchment area.
