Cell Phone Policy

Market Lane adheres to TDSB's Cell Phone Policy.

Beginning on September 1, 2024, the Ministry of Education has provided new direction around cell phone and mobile device use in all Ontario schools. By reducing the distraction of cell phones and mobile devices, together we can create more focused and engaging learning environments for students. Learn more at www.tdsb.on.ca/mobiledeviceuse or contact the school with any questions.

As per PPM 128, no personal mobile devices shall be used by students at Market Lane during the instructional day. In our K-8 school that means students are not to use any personal mobile device throughout the day. They may bring the device to school but it must remain turned off, out of sight and not in use for the duration of the school day, including recess and lunch time.

In line with the Ministry of Education’s PPM 128, students are responsible for their personal mobile devices, including how they are used and any consequences resulting from misuse. TDSB schools and staff are not responsible or liable for any damage or loss that may occur to devices that are placed in storage due to a violation of school policy.
