Character Development

Character D

Character development at the TDSB is about helping students learn and practice positive character attributes. Building good character supports building strong communities.

At Market Lane, character development is woven into our daily announcements, ongoing programs and monthly recognitions in classrooms and throughout our school.

Student Success starts with shared teaching and learning about the value of character – respecting themselves and each other, making positive contributions to their school and community and thinking critically and creatively. We are reminded of these commitments to each other each day as we listen to and see our Market Lane Pledge of Success on the announcements and in our hallways.

Caught You Caring!

We honour and recognize student's daily actions that represent kindness and caring each Friday. Every day students and staff can nominate student's who are caught doing an act of kindness or caring for others. On Fridays one of the nominees is selected, recognized throughout the school and receives a small token for their caring actions.
