2021 Virtual Information Centre and Tour

Welcome to Milne Valley.  We are excited to share our Virtual Information Centre and Tour with all of our incoming students and their families.

In the Information Centre, you will find 11 icons on the bulletin board that link to a video, presentation or document that provides information about Milne Valley.  In addition, don’t forget to click on Mr. Stamatopoulos to hear a welcome message from our principal. The Information Centre works best in Chrome and Safari.

Special thanks to our Grade 6 School Council volunteers, Adeena, Anna, Eden, Sena, Terry and William who worked with Ms Harvey Kerr to create the videos and presentations. Appreciation also to our incoming students and their families who provided questions for the Q&A in the survey shared by your school.

You can access the Virtual Information Centre and Tour at the link below.

Character Recognition at MVMS

This school year we have continued with our focus on character at Milne Valley M.S.  Each month our staff and students focus on a character trait, culminating with a month end assembly to recognize students who have exemplified the trait.  Beginning in October, our students took on the responsibility of preparing and presenting our recognition assemblies.

Below is the link to our highlights page.

Welcome Back

Welcome to the 2020 - 2021 academic year!  Although school will be different this year, we are looking forward to an amazing year ahead.

As shared in an email update on Friday September 11, students will begin their school year with a staggered start.

As such, we will be welcoming our students as follows:

September 15 – All grade 6s, some grade 7s (all second floor classes) and all students in our Intensive Support Program

September 16 – All remaining grade 7s and some grade 8s (first and third floor classes)

September 17 – All remaining grade 8s (all first floor classes)

Families in grades 7 and 8 will receive a communication on Monday September 14 to indicate which grade 7s are to attend on September 15 and which grade 8s are to attend on September 16 and the floor number of their classroom.  Please watch for the email.  As all grade 6s will be attending on September 15, no communication will be sent to those families.

When arriving at school, students will enter the property through the walkway at the south end of the school and proceed on the pavement directly to their area of the field.  The pavement area is only to be used to travel to the field locations and not for waiting for entry.  Students are asked to arrive as close to 8:55 a.m. as possible.

If your child will be absent, please remember to contact Safe Arrival.  The Safe Arrival Phone Number is 416-395-3951.  A message can be left any time during the evening or night time. Please remember to contact the school before 10:00 a.m to avoid the automated call out from the school if your child will be absent.

We can't wait to see our students on their first day!
