Why we do fundraising at Norseman
At this time, all fundraising has been put on hold.
There are two aspects to the fundraising efforts at Norseman. The first is to raise money for our students by enhancing the schools resources and programs. This is done by school staff through the annual magazine subscription campaign (QSP), and through monthly and annual events run by the Norseman Parent Council. Over the past few years, fundraising money has been used for many purposes: leveled readers and in-class libraries, band and strings repair and resources, playground equipment, theatre presentations, computer equipment, middle school trips, end to end basketball nets, and most recently the purchase of two smartboards for the school.
The second aspect is participation in philanthropic causes, which the Norseman staff and council readily supports. Our school will participate in raising money for school furniture and supplies for the new school in Kenya as well we have committed to raising funds to build a new well in India, as well as two other philanthropic causes, the Terry Fox Run and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
We do not expect every family to support every event or activity so we have provided this list so that you can budget your school fundraising dollars accordingly. Another option some families prefer is to make a cash donation (receipts issued) to the school. Please contact the main office if that is something you would like to consider.
Ongoing Fundraisers:
Mabel's Labels: If you purchase labels through Mabel’s Labels, choose our school and Norseman will get a percentage of the proceeds from your purchase.
The Lunch Lady: You can order a prepared lunch for your child on Mondays and Thursdays! There is no commitment. You only get what you sign up for and can order up to the night before! A portion of the proceeds come back to Norseman.
FundScrip: Gift Cards - this is an ongoing fundraiser where you can purchase gift cards at face value and Norseman receives a portion of the funds.
