Who we are:

We are a small group of parents just like you who want to be involved in our children’s school.

The school council is made up of: 

  • an elected committee of parents,
  • staff,
  • the principal,
  • and a general membership - which includes all parents of children attending the school.

Anyone can be a general member of the school council.


Council meetings:

The School Council meets once a month, generally on the last Monday of the month. Meetings run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and food and childcare are provided. All are welcome and no pre-registration is required.

What we do:

The school council advises the principal and the school board on a variety of issues and activities, relating to:

  • student achievement,
  • curriculum goals and priorities,
  • school budget priorities,
  • school safety,
  • renovation plans,
  • after school activities, and
  • criteria for selection of new principals.

At each meeting, we get a report from the principal on enrollment, budgets, and upcoming or new programs to the school. We also we make plans for fundraising, and projects involved with reaching out to our community.
