Seneca School is an accessible site with learning spaces and specialized equipment that meets the learning, sensory, fine and gross motor needs of our students. Ramps are found throughout the school and most of the classrooms and washrooms are equipped with lifts and change tables.
Our students require access to specialized equipment in order to meet their learning goals and stay safe at school and many of our students use wheelchairs. Under the guidance of the occupational therapist and physiotherapist, teachers and support staff help them develop gross motor skills such as crawling, standing, and walking by using specialized equipment such as standers and walkers.
Our students have many sensory needs. We use swings, trampolines, spinning chairs, and weighted blankets to help regulate their sensory systems. Our recently upgraded Snoezelen room provides a multisensory environment which is both soothing and stimulating for our students.
