School Advisory Council
Shirley Street School has a very energetic and engaged Parent Advisory School Council (PAC). These dedicated parents bring ideas and creative fundraising plans to council meetings. They help organize many special events such as Movie Night, a silent auction and bake sale at the Holiday Concert, and an end of the year BBQ to mention a few. All parents/caregivers are welcome to attend the PAC meetings which are held at the school beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Our parent council (PAC), is always looking for volunteers to help with the many events they sponsor for our students. Whether you can give an hour or many hours, all volunteers are needed and welcomed!
Parent/Caregiver Volunteers
Staff and students at Shirley St. PS. rely on parent volunteers to help out with field trips, Scientists in the School and other school initiatives that enhance programming for the students. Shirley Street parents/caregivers have a long standing tradition of partnering with our school to help out.
Parent volunteers organized the creation of three beautiful raised vegetable garden beds. The students started the seeds and planted them in the gardens and we all enjoyed seeing the results of this wonderful parent initiative!
Parent volunteers also help out with movie nights (set up/clean up/supervision/making and selling food...) and with Pizza Lunch Days (serving the pizza).
