Students

McCordic is a congregated special needs school. Our students come to us from various locations across central and eastern Toronto. They are bused to and from school. Our students are each unique and each classroom has a learning team with a teacher and educational assistants or child and youth workers. Each classroom is a community where all children are accepted and each child is seen as a valuable member.

Students at McCordic can start at age 4 and remain here until they are 21. Our school serves students with developmental disabilities and most of our students are non-verbal. Some of our students also have physical disabilities and/or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). We have a dedicated staff, many of whom have worked at McCordic for years. We strive to provide a nurturing environment where students can grow and develop to their full potential. It is a privilege and an honour to work with our very special students.

Our students are nurtured in many ways

The students at William J. McCordic enjoy a variety of activities - from gym to outdoor play to sensory and functional academic tasks.
