Come Learn With Us!

Starting school is an exciting time for your child. In the Kindergarten program, your child will develop their skills and abilities through inquiry and intentional play-based learning that includes math, science and literacy. Teachers and early childhood educators plan learning experiences where children are actively engaged in learning and thinking creatively.

How to Register

Registration for English Kindergarten programs begins at TDSB schools in February. For September 2023, children who will be four by December 31, 2023, can start Junior Kindergarten. Families may choose to register using the online registration system or by booking a face-to-face meeting directly with the school.
More information and a link to the online registration form (beginning on February 1, 2023) is available at www.tdsb.on.ca/kindergarten.

Please note:

  • Only parents or legal guardians can register a child for TDSB programs.
  • There is a separate process to apply for optional attendance. If you wish to register your child at an elementary alternative school or elementary academy, please contact the school directly for more information about requirements and the registration process.

  • You will also receive an e-mail with a link to complete a Developmental History Form for your child online. Need help? View the Developmental History Form Video Tutorial

Step 2

  • Families will be asked to connect with the school virtually (e.g. Zoom or Google meet). Once you have completed the online registration, you will receive further information and instructions from your child’s school and work together to determine a way to connect that works for your family.

If unable to report online, parents can provide immunization information to the school and the school will mail a copy to Toronto Public Health. Toronto Public Health accepts and translates foreign immunization records.  3. If requesting an exemption, call  416-392-1250.
    • Verification of date of arrival, if your child was not born in Canada. Families who are permanent residents and refugee claimants may register directly at the school.
