Welcome to Broadlands Public School

Celebrate Franco-Ontarian Day by wearing green and white on September 25th with over 611,500 francophones in Ontario!

On this day we we recognize and celebrate the contributions of the francophone community to the development of Ontario’s culture, history, society, economy and political structure.

September 30th is Orange Shirt Day. At Broadlands, we will wear orange shirts on Friday, September 29th.  Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity for First Nations, local governments, schools and communities to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come.

Broadlands becomes SK-5 in 2018
In September 2018 the French Immersion program at Broadlands PS becomes Grades SK to 5 and Broadlands students will continue on a pathway from Broadlands (SK to 5) – Windfields (6-8) – York Mills (9-12).

Who do I speak to when I have questions/concerns?
We want to work with our Broadlands community and families.  Attached is an outline of who to contact when those questions and concerns arise.

Broadlands Kiss & Ride Program
With the cooperation of our Community Liaison Police Officer, Broadlands has a Kiss n’ Ride in front of our school.   Parent volunteers meet cars just West of the bus loop entrance, and our Grade 5 & 6 Safety Patrol students escort students to their playground.  This helps to keep the traffic flow moving and to reduce/eliminate the need for cars to park, either in front of the school or in the parking lot.   We do want to ensure that we keep the area around our school as safe as possible for our community.  A Green Kiss & Ride sign identifies the area, which reads "STUDENT PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF AREA"

SAFE ARRIVAL PHONE NUMBER: 416-395-2092
The safe arrival number is available 24 hours a day, so just call it and leave the reason for your child's absence, teachers name

Schools and Parents Working Together for Our Students
This video has been created as a tool to help explain the role that parents/guardians play in supporting student achievement and well-being and emphasizes the importance of parent engagement across our system.  http://www.tdsb.on.ca/AboutUs/DirectorofEducation/VisionforLearning.aspx.
