The City of Toronto has advised that recent restrictions regarding public access to Toronto Island Park have been revised to include the Island Public School (IPS) and Natural Science School (NSS). While the school itself is dry, the roadways to and from the ferry docks have been affected by rising water levels. Student and staff safety is our top priority. As a result, IPS will be relocating to Nelson Mandela Park PS effective May 18 and for the duration of the school year. IPS families will receive detailed information from the school. Trips for other schools to the NSS will be cancelled for the balance of the school year. We apologize for any inconvenience.

PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME

Welcome to the Island Public Natural Science School!

Presently our school serves over 240 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. We are a 'Community of Learners': students and their families, staff and our community work together to learn together. We focus on academic excellence by providing our students with the learning skills and work habits that they will use throughout schooling and adult life. We achieve this by collaborating and working together to create an inclusive, safe, friendly and stimulating environment where students learn to self-regulate their learning. All students, staff, IPS families and community members are valued and respected for their diversity and uniqueness. We teach acceptance, promote individuality and provide exemplary programming for our students by instilling critical thinking & inquiry, self-discipline and a love of learning. We believe that all children can learn successfully and attain high levels of academic and social success. A commitment to lifelong learning will continue to be the goal of our community.

Regards,

Scott Woolford

Principal
