Please be advised that as of TODAY - Wednesday January 14, 2015:

 The ferry service will affect the following changes:

  • 8:30 am ferry will now run at 8:40 am - Grades 1 to 6 & Kindergarten w/ Siblings  (Supervision remains unchanged and continues at the Docks beginning at 8:15am)

  • 9:00 am ferry will now run at 9:20 am - Kindergarten w/out Siblings  (Supervision remains unchanged and continues at the Docks beginning at 8:30am)

 The ferry service will NOT affect:

  • After-school: the Ferry schedule will remain on the normal schedule in the afternoon.
  • Island students who will continue to remain on their normal schedule of bus pick-up & drop-off.

  School bus changes will only be altered to meet the reduced ferry schedule for city-side students.

 We will keep you informed of any changes and updates as we receive them.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.

Registering your child


Do you have a child born in 2011?  If you do, and you live within our catchment area, please call for an appointmtent to register your child for Junior Kindergarten, September 2015.

Registration is by appointment only at:

City side:  Wednesday, February 4, 2015
Loblaw, Queens Quay East,
5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Island Public School:
February 10 - 12th
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

You will need to bring with you:
Your child's Birth Certificate &/or Passport
Immunization Records
Health Card
2 x proof of residency (ie - lease agreement, utility bill, government statements)

To register you must live in one of the following district addresses:

10 Queen's Quay West
1 - 145 Queen's Quay West (Odd Numbers Only)
Harbour Square (all numbers)
Island Addresses

Welcome to Island Public/Natural Science School, Presently our school serves over 200 students. Ferry Schedule

Please note: the Winter ferry schedule starts October 14, 2014

City students in grades 1 to 6 take the 8:30 a.m. ferry to Wards, and our kindergarten students take the 9:00 a.m. ferry to Wards.    Island families meet the 8:40 a.m. bus at Wards. 

During the winter, ferries will only be operating on a limited schedule to Wards island.  Please visit the City of Toronto website for their schedule.
