Administrators’ Message

École Publique John Fisher Public is a dynamic school located at 40 Erskine Avenue, just north of Eglinton off of Yonge Street. We are a school steeped in history built in 1887 and considered the oldest building in the Toronto District School Board. We currently have approximately 352 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. We have a staff of over 30 people and are home to French Connection Child Care.

John Fisher is a cohesive and inclusive school environment with close ties to the community. We are a vibrant community that celebrates both the French language and French culture on a daily basis. In September 2022 we welcomed Junior Kindergarten students in English, and now we have two English JK/SK classes to expand our school from a French Immersion Centre to a dual Track School with students in English and the French stream. We offer a wide-range of extra-curricular activities and programs as well as noon-enrichment activities and after-school programming. Our School Council is deeply committed to enhancing the school experience for all children. They help support various initiatives here at John Fisher which focus on student learning, student achievement and spirit.

We believe that happy kids are healthy kids who excel in a school setting. Being the John Fisher Penguins, our school spirit is alive and well!
