Welcome to Blaydon Public School!
Our school population is 150 students strong from Kindergarten to Grade 5; including one junior French Extended program. Our students represent a diverse multicultural community and, together we respect, celebrate and include the diversity of traditions, languages and perspectives that the students, staff and wider community bring to Blaydon. With intention, our school staff curriculum planning focuses on representing students' unique identities and lived experiences. This is seen in the resources we use, the activities planned and the student voice that is included in our classrooms each day. We set high expectations for our students and staff that are focused on students' academic achievement, and well-being.
Blaydon Public School is also a Model Schools for Inner Cities. We receive extra funding that is used to support our students' academic, emotional, social and physical development and well-being. We work towards meeting the program's 5 fundamental goals:
1. Innovative teaching and learning practices,
2. Support services to meet the social, emotional, and physical well-being of our students,
3. Establishing schools as the heart of the community
4. Researching, reviewing and evaluating students and programs
5. An ongoing commitment to share successful practice.
As a school community, we are excited each day in supporting our students' joy for learning!
