Dear Parents/Caregivers:
Welcome to a new school year! We would like to take this opportunity to offer a warm welcome to all of our parents/caregivers and students, both those returning and those new to our community, as we begin another exciting school year.
We are very excited to be at Brookside P.S. and look forward to getting to know each and every student and the families of the Brookside Community. We believe that all of the relationships or interactions in every school community should be centred on respect. It is extremely important for students to learn the meaning of the word as well as realize the importance it holds in the world. In a respectful environment, students:
- feel safe;
- willingly work together;
- listen attentively;
- are focused, and;
- try their best every day.
Children will be reminded to respect the environment, respect those around them and most importantly have respect for themselves. Please go over the Code of conduct rules with your children to ensure children feel safe, mentally, emotionally, physically and academically.
Communication between home and school is vital to your child's success at school. Parents and teachers working in partnership helps in providing your child/children with the support that they need to feel safe, confident and ready to learn, knowing that the adults in the their lives are helping them to meet the opportunities and demands of the 21st century world! Your son/daughter’s agenda, teacher’s Google Classroom or other electronic tools, act as excellent communication tools that can be used to communicate regularly with your son’s /daughter’s teacher.
For the most recent version of our school polices, please visit our school website (schoolweb.tdsb.on.ca/brookside) to review the Code of Conduct; policies and procedures; traffic/parking rules, and Uniform Standards with your son or daughter and sign below to signify a mutual understanding of the school expectations, rules and routines.
On behalf of all of the staff at Brookside Public School, we offer our sincere best wishes for a great school year.
