Principal's Message

Welcome to Charles G Fraser PS, the jewel of Learning Network 21. We are a close knit school where a strong sense of community is evident from the moment one enters the building. Staff, students and parents are dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance and belonging for each member of our school family. We value the unique gifts that each student brings with them and provide opportunities for all students to become engaged in their learning both in the classroom and in the larger school environment.

Character education is a focal point for all CGF members as highlighted in our monthly character education assemblies, weekly character recognition announcements and various student centred clubs.

CGF offers many opportunities for students to develop their musical talents as well. Both Band and Strings programmes are available for our Junior students, Orff instruction, Recorder and Choral Music are also key components of our music offerings. Music classes are taught by a specialist teacher.

Technology plays a key role in our school. We continue to expand and update our current technology, utilizing a range of devices to support student learning. Visitors to the school will witness students from kindergarten to grade 6 utilizing i-pads, chromebooks, interactive white boards and laptops.  We have expanded our LEGO Robotics program to include opportunities for Primary students as well as our well established Junior Robotics program.

CGF has started on an ECO Journey, focusing on raising student awareness of how we can lessen our carbon footprint by monitoring and reducing our energy consumption both at home and school, promoting the Three R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and providing our students with authentic learning opportunities to re-connect with  the natural environment through our outdoor classroom initiative. We are officially recognized as an Eco-School and we achieved Gold certification on our most recent Eco-Schools audit.

We welcome all members of our school community and encourage you to become involved in our “Jewel of the South”.
