Concern Protocol
: Step-by-step guidance for resolving questions constructively with staff.
- School Communication Protocol:To ensure questions are addressed promptly and prevent email overload, please follow these guidelines:
- First Point of Contact: For classroom questions, student progress, or specific concerns/incident, contact your child’s teacher directly or email clairlea@tdsb.on.ca. Main office routing ensures your message reaches the right person, especially when administration is off-site or away from email.
- Check Existing Updates: Before emailing, please review recent school communications and our website, as your question may already be answered.
- Response Times: We aim to address Inquiries within 48 business hours unless extenuating circumstances.
- Work-Life Balance: In alignment with board disconnect guidelines, staff are encouraged to respond during standard school hours. We kindly ask families to schedule or send messages during the school day as well -Thank you for your cooperation in keeping communication efficient and manageable.
- Codes of Conduct: Respectful and Professional Standards are guided by PR585 - Board Code of Conduct , PR571 - Code of On-line Conduct , PR739 - Promoting Respect in the Workplace , and School Code of Conduct .
- Safety & Support Standards: Accountability and safety are maintained via Bullying Prevention (PR. 703 ), Progressive Discipline (PR. 702 ), Promoting a Positive School Climate (PR697), and the TDSB Chart of Consequences .
- Device Usage: Cell phones and devices follow our Clairlea Progressive Discipline for Cell Phone and Device Usage plan during school hours.
- Incident Resolutions: When concerns arise, we follow a progressive discipline approach—taking the necessary time to investigate fully and gather a complete picture of what occurred before responding. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
"Nut Aware" & No-Food-Sharing Policy
Clairlea PS is Nut Aware (severe nut, peanut, and sesame allergies can trigger via touch).
- No Food Sharing: No outside snacks/treats for birthdays or celebrations; bring certified nut-free or non-food alternatives.
- Medical Forms: Please return all annual student forms promptly (e.g. start up forms are sent at the beginning of the school year).
Scent-Aware Environment
Avoid personal body sprays, perfumes, or scented air fresheners to protect sensitive staff and students.
