Contact Alternative students have unprecedented access to mental health and anxiety support. We have a dedicated team, including a full-time Child and Youth Counsellor, as well as a Social Worker and Resource Teacher who are there to support students.
Contact Alternative also features an enhanced student nutrition program. In addition to our all-day breakfast and snack table, we also provide a hot, home-made lunch each day. Students and teachers work together to plan and prepare these meals and then sit together in our newly renovated communal area. It has been said that breaking bread together is one of the oldest and most fundamentally unifying of human experiences, and at Contact, we embody that everyday.
Students also have access to the Contact Care Closet; a dedicated room filled with non-perishable food items, hygiene products and clothes. Students can enter and leave as they wish, taking whatever items they feel they need.
We also cover the financial obligations of daily transit (TTC tickets are distributed to students everyday), as well as the costs for University and College applications. Contact Alternative has been built with the student in mind. We would be honoured to support any student that could benefit from our unique learning environment.
