Demetrios Diplaros
A hero once walked the halls of Corvette Public School. Now, a sugar maple tree and a plaque stand in front of the school as a tribute to that hero, Pte. Demetrios Diplaros, who was killed in Afghanistan two weeks after his 24th birthday when his armoured vehicle hit an improvised explosive device west of Kandahar City. Warrant Officer Robert Wilson and Cpl. Mark McLaren were also killed in the Dec. 5, 2008 blast.
If you are a former student of Corvette or know an alum of the school that should be recognized as a Corvette Crew member of distinction, please do not hesitate to contact the school at 416-396-6180
