School Council

Earl Grey School Council

Earl Grey School Council can be described as a group of parents / caregivers who believe in the importance of the relationship between school, home, community, and student, in helping to nurture healthy and successful students.  We act as an advisory body that makes recommendations to the Principal or to the School Board on matters relevant to student success. We consult with parents / caregivers to maintain a school-wide perspective on issues, and we aim to represent and communicate the views of our school community.

We are committed to:

  • creating, maintaining, and contributing to a climate of understanding and mutual respect for the rights and the dignity of each person.
  • identifying, confronting, and eliminating barriers to engagement and participation.
  • examining biases and reflecting on the impact that power and privilege have on parents/caregivers and their engagement.
  • supporting individuals who are, or have been, targets of discrimination and harassment.
  • working to prevent discrimination and harassment.
  • taking all allegations of discrimination and harassment seriously and responding promptly by reporting them to the principal.

Parents / caregivers are not required to be members of School Council to attend meetings and participate with School Council.  We meet once a month in-person and via Zoom and we encourage you to attend whenever you can.
