Modern Languages

About our department

Students will develop their skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking using a variety of language learning strategies.

Help your child succeed in language classes :

  • Encourage your child to read every day. Regular reading will help your child increase vocabulary and spelling as well as writing. Reading can also help with writing.
  • Encourage your child to watch or listen to media and music in the target language
  • Encourage your child to participate in class. Speaking in class will improve confidence and the more often a language is spoken, the easier it will be.
  • Make sure homework and assignments are complete. Homework is regularly assigned and it’s an important way for students to practice their skills.
  • Be ready to learn by bringing proper materials to class every day : binder, lined papers, appropriate worksheets, textbook, writing utensils
