Canadian and World Studies

History/Civics:

At Eastdale, we offer two exciting history programs that help students explore Canada’s past while improving their reading, writing, and communication skills. Our hands-on locally developed history program lets students dive into local history by visiting nearby landmarks and discovering stories in our own community. Our academic Canadian History program provides a solid foundation in Canadian history, focusing on research and thoughtful discussions.

Along with history, our Civics program teaches students how to be active, engaged citizens in their community. With small class sizes, students get plenty of one-on-one attention and the chance to take part in meaningful conversations. Whether in the classroom or out exploring, Eastdale helps students connect with history and civics in a practical, hands-on way.

Geography:

At Eastdale, our Canadian Geography program helps students understand the world around them by focusing on both physical and human geography in Canada. Students explore topics like climate, ecosystems, and the relationships between people and their environment. Through hands-on activities, field trips, and real-world projects, they gain a deeper understanding of how geography shapes communities and global issues.
