Assessment - Kindergarten to Grade 5
Assessment is ongoing and differentiated. It may take the form of observation, testing, oral presentations, projects, self and peer assessment to name just a few techniques. At varying times, more formal assessment/evaluations occur. Grade three students participate in the provincial EQAO assessment of reading, writing and mathematics the end of May/early June. DRA/Primary and CASI/Junior reading assessments take place at the school level in the fall and spring.
Report Cards/Evaluation - Grade 1 to 5
An Elementary Progress Report that goes home in November. There are two Report Cards that go home in February and June. Parent/Teacher interviews are conducted in November and February. Staff are always willing to discuss daily progress and work with parents to help students throughout the school year. Please call the office for an appointment or make arrangements with your child's classroom teacher.
Report Cards/Evaluation - Junior and Senior Kindergarten
Junior Kindergarten children receive a Junior Kindergarten Summary in February and a Kindergarten Report in June. Senior Kindergarten children receive a Kindergarten Report in November and June. For Junior and Senior Kindergarten children, there are many opportunities to discuss daily progress with your child's teacher and Early Childhood Educator.
