Extended Absences of 15-25 school days

Some families experience emergencies or situations that necessitate travel and absences from school longer than 15 school days. A program of study may be an option during this absence so your child is no demitted from Forest Manor PS. After filling out an extended absence form, the principal will use their discretion to approve a program of study for your child. Links to the Ministry of Education online resources will be provided to ensure that your child can access grade level material for their grade. This will also ensure that your child can return to their current classroom. 

A program of study is:
-a way to ensure your child returns to their current classroom
-gives them access to online Ministry of Education resources for practise

A program of study is not:
-an online version of their current classroom
-meant to allow them to continue exactly what is being missed in the classroom
-work assigned and graded by the classrom teacher
