Dear Community Partners,

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) would like to share some information with you and your families about Early French Immersion. The entry point to Early French Immersion for September 2025/26 school year is Junior Kindergarten

The application to the Early French Immersion program will remain an online process managed by the Central French Department and applications must be completed online between November 4 and November 29, 2024. An offer of placement in the program (not a specific school) is guaranteed to all on-time applicants. Families with an older sibling currently in an Early French Immersion program at the same school are still required to complete an online application for the new student. For more information, please visit: Application Early French Immersion.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

  Welcome Back!

Mr. Rowan and I are honoured to be at Glamorgan Jr. P.S. to participate in a wonderful year ahead! We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable summer; and we are looking forward to connecting with all our students, staff and community members over the days and weeks ahead. Both Mr. Rowan and I are very excited to be a part of this vibrant learning community and we look forward to strengthening the feeling of joy, belonging and engagement at Glamorgan for the 2024-2025 school year.

To those returning to our wonderful school, welcome back! To those who are new, a sincere welcome to all of you! We hope that everyone has had pleasant adventures during the summer months. Now, it is time to get back to learning opportunities, routines and school friends. I’m sure many children are excited with the anticipation of beginning a new grade with a new teacher and look forward to making new friendships. We hope that the “Meet Next Year’s Teacher” class visit in June helped ease some anxious minds as students transition to their new classes.

Both Mr. Rowan and I are extremely excited about this upcoming school year as it promises to be another dynamic year for students, staff and our community. As a learning community, we will continue to “show our thinking and learning and share our stories and narratives”, as we extend our School Improvement Goals this school year. Be sure to check out our dynamic bulletin board by the school office, that highlights how we are supporting: student achievement, student and staff well-being and joy, as well as Indigenous Education.

Our priority will continue to be the engagement and well-being of our students, staff and school community. We will equally be committed to supporting and achieving high learning expectations for all on a daily basis. As school administrators, we look forward to visiting all the classrooms and discussing learning goals and success criteria with all the students as they take ownership of their learning.

Please know that our school is well on its way to being ready and gleaming for the opening day thanks to Mr. He, Mr. Ramsay and Ms. Trajcevski - our caretaking staff. Let’s honour their hard work by making every effort to keep our school clean. The teaching and support staff will be busy bringing to life their classrooms and planning meaningful, engaging and authentic learning lessons.

A great big THANK YOU to Mr. Rowan and our office staff for their efforts to ensure a smooth start to the school year - never an easy task! Class lists, bus schedules, student forms, attendance, and so much more will all be organized and ready for September 3rd, 2024.

Speaking of staff, we have many familiar teaching faces and welcome everyone! It is an absolute pleasure working with the Glamorgan staff, who showed us last year how they go above and beyond every day to support student well-being, achievement, and sense of self.

Finally, we wanted to extend a very warm welcome to everyone and best wishes for a fantastic 2024-2025 school year! We believe that students are at the center of all school-related decisions and that the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students. We encourage you to become involved in opportunities throughout the school year.

Thank you all for your continued support and hard work! We look forward to working with everyone in the months ahead.

See everyone at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024!

Sincerely,

Mr. Petrucci & Mr. Rowan
