This is a reminder about our safe arrival and early pick-ups procedures here at Hodgson Middle School
To report student’s absence
Safe Arrival:
Your child’s safety is our top priority, and we need your help every day to ensure all students are accounted for.
Reporting Absences
It is extremely important to complete the absence notification for your child before the start of the school day. This ensures your child is safe and accounted for.
Option 1 – Safe Arrival Phone Line
📞 Call 1-833-250-2290 anytime (evening before or morning of).
- Report your child’s absence.
- Lates are no longer accepted due to safety concerns. If your child will be late, enter a full-day absence. When your child arrives at the office, staff will override it to “present” with a late explanation.
If your child is absent and you haven’t called us, you’ll get an automated Safe Arrival call from 416-393-0390.
- If your child is away, call 1-833-250-2290 to explain the absence.
- If your child is at school and you think the call was a mistake, call 416-393-0390.
Option 2 – School Messenger App
📱 Download the School Messenger app (Google Play or App Store)
- Sign up with the same email you receive school messages.
- Select Canada
- Report absences under the Attendance

**Important Notes**
- Use the app/safe arrival phone line for student absences of 1–3 days.
- For student absences of 3 or more days, email the school secretary: Nacha Figliano nacha.figliano@tdsb.on.ca , it is important to communicate to the office if your child will be away for more than 3 days.
Early Pick-Ups:
If your child will be picked up early or will not take the bus for that particular day, please complete this form before 2:30 p.m. on the same day. Please call the office at 416-393-0390 when you have arrived to pick up your child.

Important Reminders:
- This form is only for early pick-ups.
- If your child will be absent, follow the Safe Arrival procedure – do not use the Hodgson Student Pick-Up Bus form.
- The form must be filled out every time your child is picked up early or will not take the bus.
Why this matters:
Completing the Safe Arrival Procedures keeps your child safe, helps the school respond quickly, and ensures no student is unaccounted for. Your cooperation is essential – everyday counts!
