WHAT: The Beginner Music Camp is a special Saturday session to help John G students learn the first steps on their new musical instrument. It includes ‘masterclasses’ with a specialist on your instrument, ultra-fun games in the recreation period, a pizza lunch and a short concert at the end given by the faculty and staff.
WHO: All Grade 6 students who have never played their instrument before and all Grade 7 and 8 students who are new to the school (and to Instrumental Music) are STRONGLY encouraged to attend.
WHY: Students will learn as much at our Beginner Camp as they would in 3 weeks of regular class. This intensive instructional day helps them get a powerful head-start on their Instrumental Music experience.
WHEN: SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 22, 8:45 TO 1:45
WHERE: STRINGS students meet at the parking lot door to the school (south end) and BAND students meet at the Tromley doors.
OTHER NOTES: Parents and others are invited to the day-end concert at 1:15 in Gym A. Students will not need a lunch (pizza will be served). Provided the Instrument Assignment Form has been filled out and signed by the student and parent, instruments may be taken home at the end of the day.
If there is some reason that you cannot attend please let the music teachers know as soon as possible.
Looking forward to working with you on Saturday, September 23rd.
Mr Worden and Mr Samotowka
