LAST WEEK FOR OPTIONAL ATTENDANCE FORMS TO BE SIGNED AND DROPPED OFF TO THE HIGH SCHOOLS.

The dates for this year’s Optional Attendance (OA) process for regular program at Secondary Schools:

Please remember you need to use an optional attendance form if you want to apply to attend a secondary school other than your secondary homeschool. If  the grade 8 student has a sibling at a school (other than their secondary homeschool) an OA form needs to be filled out if they are applying to attend.  NO OA FORM IS REQUIRED  if a student decides to  attend their secondary homeschool (including French Immersion and Gifted program pathways).

February 1: Deadline to apply for Optional Attendance for regular program. Parents need to deliver to secondary school the completed and signed OA form (signed by Grade 8 Principal/designate).

February 15: Secondary Schools to notify applicants of the status of their application. (Schools can notify applicants earlier, although every effort should be made to align offer dates as close to February 15 as possible). Students need to choose one TDSB school to attend for Grade 9. If students decide to attend a Catholic Board/Private school then they can notify any TDSB specialized program they will not be attending and notify Mr. Ball.

If students are attending a Catholic Board /Private school, instead of a regular TDSB program they can notify Mr. Ball.

February 22: Students return their course selection sheet to their elementary school, completed on Myblueprint.ca and sent in to homeroom teacher signed by parent/guardian.

OPTIONAL ATTENDANCE FORMS ARE AVAILABLE NOW, FOR REGULAR PROGRAMS IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE OR FROM MR. BALL. Students are only allowed to apply to TWO GRADE 9 SCHOOLS (regular programs)  for Optional attendance.

*A few schools continue to accept applications for SPECIALIZED SCHOOL PROGRAMS (WESTERN TECH, WESTON C.I. etc…) please check the www.tdsb.on.ca  website and click on HIGHSCHOOL/School website  to check the dates. Students are  allowed to apply to TWO TDSB SPECIALIZED programs.
