Parents want the best education for their children. Our goal is to provide your family with a positive learning environment, with a variety of programs and services that promote outstanding student achievement.
Parents are children's first and life-long teachers. We value the partnership between home and school and know that parental involvement is the key to success in school. You can be involved by helping your child with homework, volunteering in our school, or joining our school council. By welcoming you and providing opportunities for you to be involved, we can work together to ensure that our students receive the very best education.

SAFE ARRIVAL
Regular attendance is crucial to the academic success and well-being of children. The Safe Arrival Program helps by ensuring that children have arrived safely at school each day. As a reminder, if your child is going to be absent or late for any reason, contact us on our safe arrival line at 416-396-6450 press 1 and leave a voicemail message. You may leave a message after regular school hours. For one day absences, please state if it is an all day, morning only or afternoon only absence. If there is no report of the absence, the automated attendance system will try to contact a parent/guardian or designated caregiver.
HOME SCHOOL COMMUNICATION
We prefer electronic communication for its reliability and efficiency. Please complete the form to be added to our school email list. Classroom teachers may also use this email list for their own class communication. Newsletters, notification of school events and other important information are sent via email. We also have a Twitter account: @LMM_TDSB
PARKING AT SCHOOL
When dropping off or picking up your children at school please DO NOT PARK IN THE SCHOOL BUS LOADING ZONE OR IN THE STAFF PARKING LOT.
We must keep the School Bus Loading zone free in order to ensure the safety of all students boarding the buses.
Unfortunately we do not have a pick-up and drop off lane and the parking lot has one driveway for entrance and exit. Please refrain from using our parking lot from 8:30 to 9:30 AM, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. The concern is that cars accessing our parking lot must cross over the sidewalk used by children walking to school. We are also concerned about children entering and leaving vehicles in a congested overcrowded lot. Fewer cars in school parking lots reduces conflicts between pedestrians and vehicle traffic
TDSB Policy: Recess During Cold Weather
Elementary school students are kept indoors for recess and lunch times for a number of weather conditions such as rain, lightning in the area, extreme winds and extreme cold. When temperature and wind chill measure -28C or lower, students are kept indoors. Recesses and lunch hour may be shortened if the temperature and wind chill reading is between -20C and -28C. If a student's medical condition requires further consideration due to weather conditions, or if parents have other questions or concerns about how and when weather conditions affect your child's school day, please contact the school.
It is also listed in the parent information section of the Lucy Maud Montgomery student agenda books.
PLAYGROUND
The playground is the property of the Toronto District School Board and is under school jurisdiction during the school day from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The community has access to the playground outside of the school day. The schoolyard is supervised before school from 8:40 to 8:50 AM, during the recess periods, and after school until 3:40 PM. Scooters, Roller Blades, Bicycles and Skateboards are not to be used on school property between 8:00 a.m. and 3:40 p.m., Monday through Friday.
DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE SCHOOL PROPERTY AT ANY TIME. We wish to keep the grounds and playing areas free from dog excrement and in addition, dogs on school property during the school day pose a potential safety issue for children.
