REQUIREMENTS FOR HMST STUDENTS

Students must complete math and science courses with a mark of 75% or higher in each year of the program.

The following courses may be taken in Grade 10 or Grade 11. There are no prerequisites for these courses.
Students must complete at least TWO of these courses to fulfill the HSMT requirement.

CONDUCT REQUIREMENTS

While academic achievement and extra-curricular involvement are an integral part of the HMST program, it is equally important for students to demonstrate good citizenship and an exceptional work ethic in order to maintain their status in the program.  All HMST students must abide by the following Code of Conduct at all times.

Students are to be treated with respect and dignity.  In return, they must demonstrate respect for themselves, for others and for the responsibilities of citizenship through respectful behaviour.  Respect and responsibility are demonstrated when a student:

  • comes to school prepared, on time, and ready to learn (including daily homework completion and timely submission of assignments)
  • shows respect for him/herself, for others, and for authority through actions and words (using considerate and courteous language)
  • shows proper care and regard for school property and the property of others
  • refrains from bringing anything to school that may compromise the safety of others
  • follows the established rules and takes responsibility for his/her own actions
  • adheres to the Online Code of Conduct.
