All students have homework every night. Homework is assigned for the following
purposes:

• to complete assignments or work not finished in class
• to organize and review their notes
• to prepare for the next day’s lessons
• to extend learning by working on projects or other special assignments
• to prepare for presentations, tests, quizzes and exams
• reading for pleasure as well as assigned work

Extra Help/Peer Tutoring/Remedial Help

Extra help is available from all teachers. Teachers designate the times for grade 6, 7, and 8 students to come for extra help. All students are expected to come for extra help when:

• they experience difficulty with a lesson, assignment or homework
• help is needed to catch up on missed work
• the teacher requests that they come
