Pleasant View's Library

Library Learning Commons

Pleasant View Middle School’s Steven Hayakawa Library Learning Commons (LLC) contains a collection of fiction and non-fiction books, which meet the Ministry of Ontario’s curriculum expectations. All books in our collection are age appropriate for middle school students. The LLC encompasses books for all learners such as French and English Language Learners. We are even working on building our dual language books.

Our Library Learning Commons is a place for students to use computers to complete homework, work on and print assignments or conduct research. The LLC is a diverse, accepting environment with a place for collaboration, studying, learning and reading. Students are also welcome to use one of our comfortable seating areas to delve into a book. They are also encouraged to sign out books to take home and enjoy outside of school. Borrowing books does not require a library card however; students are encouraged to return books as soon as they are finished reading them for others to enjoy. The LLC has two computer labs to assist with homework, research as well as printing students’ assignments.

To meet students’ needs, the LLC is open Monday-Thursday during lunch as well as after school from 3:00-4:00 p.m
