Food for Kids Program

We know that the closure of schools has been difficult for many families, especially those who rely on school-based Student Nutrition Programs. The TDSB and the Toronto Foundation for Student Success have teamed up to provide families at your school with $50 grocery store food cards (one per TDSB student). If your family would benefit from this card, please complete the registration form online.

How to Register

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our school is currently closed by order of the Minister of Education for Ontario.

At this time, we are not accepting new student registrations for quad 4.  However we have every intention of serving the needs of our current students.  For this reason, we are concluding quad 3 on Fri May 1st.

Students will complete their quad 4 courses through an online learning format with our teachers beginning on Tue May 5th.
Quad 3 Students have being working closely with our Teachers, Guidance Department to prepare them for Quad 4.  If you have not booked your appointment to confirmed your Quad 4 course(s), please visit the Guidance page to schedule your appointment asap. No Course changes are possible after Sun May 3rd.

We wish all of our students and their families continued health and well-being during this very difficult time.

Welcome to The Scarborough Centre for Alternative Studies!  Our school represents a unique opportunity for adult students to learn new skills, develop new ways of thinking and to change direction in life.  Whether you are completing the requirements of The Ontario Secondary School Diploma, earning the prerequisites for a post-secondary program, or gaining work experience through Co-operative Education, SCAS provides a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

Our classes focus on learning by doing, on solving realistic problems and on discussing complex issues.  Our teachers recognize the life experiences of our students and use this knowledge to enhance the curriculum.  Our teachers also recognize that much learning occurs outside of the classroom.  To that end, they sponsor field trips, clubs and sporting events.  Students are encouraged to follow their example and become actively engaged in the life of the school.

Congratulations on your decision to consider The Scarborough Centre for Alternative Studies.  It's the first step to reaching your goal.
