Shirley Street School has a very energetic and engaged School Advisory Council. These dedicated parents bring ideas and creative fundraising plans to council meetings. They help organize many special events such as weekly pizza lunches, Art Night, bake sales at concerts and the June Fun Fair. All parents/caregivers are welcome to attend the council meetings. School Council fundraising also supports field trips, enrichment through Scientists in Schools, dance instruction and additional resources for classrooms and the school library.

Staff and students at Shirley St. PS rely on parent volunteers to help out with field trips, Scientists in the School and other school initiatives that enhance programming for the students. Shirley Street parents/guardians/caregivers have a long standing tradition of partnering with our school to help out. Our school council is always looking for volunteers to help with the many events they sponsor for our students. Whether you can give an hour or many hours, all volunteers are needed and welcomed.
