School councils are an excellent way for parents to get involved in their child`s education. Our school has an elected school council that is an important forum for involving all members of the school community in issues that affect the education of students. The school council is made up of an elected committee of parents, a general membership which includes all parent of children attending the school, the principal and staff. The school council is an advisory group that works in partnerships with the principal to support the students and the school.

Voting for the 2026-27 School Council will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

The nomination form for the 2026–27 School Council will be available on Friday, September 18, 2026. If you would like to run for a position or nominate someone, please be sure to include a short biography introducing yourself or your nominee to voters.

Process:

• The list of nominees and their biographies will be shared with the parent community through School Messenger by 6:00 PM on Tuesday, September 29.
• If there are 12 or more nominees, an election will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM. If  less than 12 nominees are received an election is not required and those nominees will be acclaimed 
• Voting will be conducted by secret ballot. Proxy and absentee voting are not permitted by the School Council by-laws.
• The order of candidates on the ballot will be determined randomly by drawing names from a container.
• On October 8, please check in at the office and provide your name and your child’s name to receive a ballot. Each voter may select up to 11 candidates to fill the 11 vacant School Council positions.
• Ballots will be counted beginning at 7:01 PM by the Principal (or designate), together with one parent/parent member(s) of the School Council who are not seeking election.
• The names of the successful candidates will be shared with the parent community through School Messenger that evening.
