Message From Principal Morris
A friend of mine loves to send a post everyday with the countdown to the end of the school year and as of today (Friday) according to her count, we are at 42 school days to go. As you can see below, there is lots going on and we will keep busy right to the end. A couple of important dates popped up on my calendar for these weeks. First May 8th, the anniversary of my hole in one (1993 and yes, I had 3 witnesses). Second, and more importantly, which will occur on May 5th is National Teachers Appreciation Day. (actually an appreciation week). I hope during that week all of our education workers were reminded of the amazing things they do. The hard work and dedication they put into their profession, the thankless hours of time they put into their planning and preparing their days and the uncanny ability they all have to put all of their stressors aside when they are in front of our students. All of our staff take such good care of our students and each other and my wish is that throughout this past week and beyond, they all get taken care of by those who love them. Please take the time to thank all educators for everything they accomplish.
Just a few updates for you to keep you all in the loop. Library renos are moving along. Carpet and flooring are complete and some of the carpentry has begun. The electricians are moving along and will have their work done within the next few weeks. We are waiting on painting and the rest of the cabinetry to come in and hope that this will be completed before the end of the school year. Also, a quick update on the Kindergarten Play Area. within the next 4-6 weeks they will approve a contractor who should begin construction this summer. That being said, our facilities have added sand to the KDG area and more wood chips to the playground area to keep things tidy. Please note that the summer start time for the construction will probably mean a fall completion. We will know more when we come back in September.
Lastly our Welcome to Kindergarten will take place on Monday May 25, at 4:00 pm. It will be held in-person this year in room 102/103. We will communicate that to our families who have already registered Please pass this information on to anyone you may know who may still need to register their child for Kindergarten starting at Timberbank in September 2026.
Have an amazing weekend everyone!
