Principal's Message

Principal's Message

It is with great excitement and a deep sense of responsibility that I join the West Humber community as your new principal this year.  I want to begin by thanking the staff and previous administration for the tremendous work they have done to bring the school to where it is today.  My goal is to build on this strong foundation as we continue striving for even greater levels of success together.

At West Humber, I have high expectations for all students. I firmly believe that every child has the ability to learn, achieve, and thrive when given the right opportunities and supports.  Guided by the Toronto District School Board's Multi-Year Strategic Plan, I am committed to removing barriers to learning, closing achievement gaps, and creating pathways for success for every student, regardless of background, ability, or circumstance.

A top priority will be to ensure that our school remains a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where students feel a strong sense of belonging.  Safety is the foundation that allows teaching and learning to flourish, and we will continue to nurture an environment where respect, collaboration, and care guide all that we do.

Equally important is building and strengthening our partnerships with parents, guardians, and caregivers.  Together with our staff and community partners, we will work to promote greater student engagement, achievement, and well-being.  By working in collaboration, we can further improve student outcomes, including stronger pass rates, higher graduation rates, and more opportunities for students to pursue their aspirations.

I look forward to working closely with each of you - students, staff, families, and community members - as we continue to make West Humber a place where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.

Sincerely,

B. Patrick Lee
