MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

It is a true privilege to serve as Principal at Williamson Road JPS since September 2023. The students, staff and school partners that make up our community value achievement, diversity, inclusion and well being. We work together to provide a learning environment that is positive and rich in experiences. 

We sincerely believe in the partnership between school and community in order to educate and prepare your children to be happy, successful and positive contributors to society. Your child needs your active support by attending school events, keeping in touch with the teachers, checking the planner or online platforms to ensure that homework is complete and staying up to date on the many activities happening at the school via our school newsletters. We have an active School Council with many parent volunteers who support the school with community events and fundraisers to provide additional enriching experiences for our students. Parents are invited to attend meetings and new members are always welcome. This is a wonderful way to have a positive impact on the experiences your child will have while attending Williamson.

We endeavour to help educate the total child. Our mission is to enable all students to learn and improve, and to acquire the knowledge, skills and values needed to build inquiry and critical thinking skills. This is achieved by integrating language and mathematics into science, social studies and the arts. This year we will be having dedicated STEAM instruction embedded into the timetable. Embedded within these disciplines are Character Education, Self-Regulation and Well Being through our partnerships with BRAVE Education, BLOOM and THEATRIX, in order to promote problem-solving skills as well as to build resiliency.

This Parent Handbook is designed to provide information about daily routines and expectations at Williamson PS, daycare services provided, how to be involved,  as well as how to support your child and contact us if needed.
