·        Select SEARCH BY ADDRESS

·        Type in your street name [i.e., if your live at 3205 Dundas St. West, type in “Dundas”

·        You may have more than one secondary school listed

If your child is not planning on attending their home secondary school, they have the option of applying to two additional schools under the Optional Attendance process. Contact
for more info.

What is Optional Attendance?
Attached are the fact sheet on Optional Attendance and the Optional Attendance form for students applying to schools OTHER than their home secondary school. The TDSB has an Open/Closed list (scoll down to Secondary) that lists schools that are accepting Optional Attendance forms [Open], schools that are NOT accepting Optional Attendance [Closed] and schools that are accepting some Optional Attendance [Limited]. The 201/2015 list will be available in January, 2015.

If your child is planning to apply to a school through the Optional Attendance process, then all Optional Attendance forms must be signed by the school administration prior to parents/guardians delivering them to the desired Open or Limited secondary schools. The deadline is January 30, 2015. Students can only apply to two Optional Attendance schools for regular programs and two for specialized.

The course selection process will begin late January/early February. Course selections will be done at school, signed by parents and submitted by the Guidance Counsellor. Students who are certain they are attending their home school will likely chose their courses via Families are encouraged to explore this website.

Students who have applied elsewhere under Optional Attendance, have North Toronto as a home school or are waiting for an Offer of Placement will chose their courses for their home school on a hard copy course selection sheet. If they are accepted to their desired school under Optional Attendance, a new course selection sheet will be provided to them promptly. Please watch for this to come home for your signature late January/early February. Kindly return them promptly to your child’s teacher as the course selection process is considered your child’s registration for secondary school.
