NSS is showing our learning and support for

Orange Shirt Day  on Sept. 30th, falling just at the tail end of the Truth and Reconciliation Week.

In preparation for this, NSS has been collaborating with a grade 6 class at Kensington Community School to create custom #Everychildmatters buttons.

Buddies will be selling the buttons, $2.00 a piece, during TRC week

All proceeds will be donated to https://www.councilfire.ca/index.html on behalf of the NSS and Kensington Community School students and staff.

The art work was supplied by one of our own NSS students!

ARTIST STATEMENT: I designed the feather this way, because the colors are a symbol of the medicine wheel represented in Indigenous culture. It also represents the seasons, and what it means to be spiritually connected with other members. White represents Movement & Behavior, Red represents Vision & Respect, Yellow represents Time & Relationship, and Black represents Knowledge & Feeling.
