Welcome to Northern Secondary School!

For all students, and prospective students, we encourage you to take advantage of the breadth of programming we have on offer here at Northern. Our curricular options set us apart from many other schools in the Toronto area- these opportunities should not be missed! Outside the classroom we also have an incredible range of extra-curricular offerings- a robust athletics program, a fantastic arts program, clubs, student government, and more! There is something for every Red Knight to be involved in outside of the classroom. We are responsive to student voice and are always interested in your input for new inclusive programming. Make sure to explore this website and ask staff any questions about these opportunities.

At Northern we pride ourselves on outstanding wrap-around support for students. If you are dealing with academic, social, emotional- any sort of challenge- please start in guidance. Your counsellor will listen and help you formulate a plan and put supports in place to get you through the most challenging times. The school and board have a multitude of supports to draw on- just ask!

We have a very active school community at Northern. Our School Council meets regularly throughout the year and has several attached committees representing the interests of our students and programs. We are also very fortunate to have the Northern Secondary School Foundation that works diligently to support bursaries and scholarships for students as the move onto post-secondary school.

Finally, here at Northern we take pride in the rich history of the school. When you enter the building you will feel this connection to the past while at the same time being surrounded by forward thinking staff and students.
