On behalf of the staff at Alvin Curling PS, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our students and families.  We trust that you had a wonderful summer break with your children and that you were able to enjoy many shared activities.  We look forward to welcoming students and families back on Tuesday, September 8^th. The entry bell rings at 8:40am. You will receive an email from the school on Friday, September 4^th that states which class your child is in and the entrance/exit where they will meet their teacher on the first day.

It is a privilege and honour to be back as the principal of Alvin Curling PS as I begin my 28^th year as an educator. I am excited about the opportunity to continue to contribute and collaborate with such a strong school community. It is exciting to be a part of a school community that believes in all students receiving a “well rounded” education.

There are a few ways to stay connected with the school. I will be sending a weekly update, Curling Connection, to the school community using the TDSB’s automated email messaging system. Please ensure the school has your up-to-date email address.  Our website, https://schoolweb.tdsb.on.ca/alvincurling, and X/Twitter account, @CurlingTDSB , are two other ways to stay informed. Make sure to follow us for updates!

In preparation for the first day of school on Tuesday, September 8^th, I encourage you to spend a few minutes to review the following:

• 2026 – 2027 WELCOME BACK SLIDESHOW – Contains information about the first day routine, staying for lunch, pedestrian safety, and plenty of other valuable school information.
• Welcome Back BBQ & Meet the Families on Thursday, September 24
• Start of Year Forms – It is essential that they are completed. You should have received an email from noreplyregistration@powerschool.com on September 1^st.

We encourage parents/guardians to be involved in their children’s education by supporting our School Advisory Council.  Education is a partnership between parents, students, teachers, and school administration. Your participation in the council will give you the opportunity to strengthen that partnership, and to be part of a diverse team working to support your child’s education. Your involvement can make a difference! Our first meeting will take place on Thursday, October 1^st at 6:30pm.
