Grade 8 Graduation
Weston Historical Society Award (Plaque)
This award is presented to the student who has demonstrated a keen interest and high achievement in the subject of history and has a broad knowledge of world affairs.
Weston Lions Club Highest Academic Achievement Award (Plaque)
This award is presented to the top student who achieved the highest academic achievement in the graduating year.
Shahreen Reza Award for Excellence in Mathematics (Medal and Monetary Gift)
This award goes to the grade 8 student with the Highest Standing in the Waterloo Mathematics Competition
The Lillian Mingail Award (Medal and Monetary Gift)
The Lillian Mingail Award was established
in 2021 in honour of a former dramatic arts teacher who served her students and
the community at C.R. Marchant. With much flare and excitement, Lillian
Mingail inspired her students to share in her love of the performing
arts. The Lillian Mingail award is presented to a graduating female
student for outstanding achievement in oral communication, presentation and
performance skills.
Ontario Principal's Award (Plaque)
This award is presented to the student who has consistently demonstrated leadership in the school, and continues to display the character traits celebrated at C.R. Marchant.
Valedictorian Award (Plaque)
This award is presented to the top academic student who has positively contributed to the life of the school; peers and staff have nominate the recipient
Dori Mould Award (Plaque)
This award is presented to the student who has demonstrated a passion for literacy and has made gains and/or shown initiative in their literacy development.
Inez Neale Award (Medal)
This award is presented to the student who exemplifies outstanding citizenship, manners, punctuality, participation in school life, and respect for others.
Athletic Award (Plaque)
This award is presented to the most outstanding male and female athletes.
House Leaders Award (Plaque)
This award is presented to Leader of the Green, Yellow, Purple and Orange House. These students were nominated by their peers to be the House Leader for the year. They have demonstrated leadership in the school by being morning announcers, organizing spirit days and dances, and being excellent role models.
Most Improved Award Plaque
This award is presented to the grade 8 student who has demonstrated a marked improvement in academic achievement and a positive growth mindset. The recipient is likely to be a student who has attended C.R. Marchant for two or three years.
Excellence in Achievement Awards (Medals)
These awards are presented to grade 8 students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in English, French, Math, Science, History, Geography, Physical Education, Drama, Dance, Music and Visual Arts.
Other Year End Awards
Grade 7 Academic Achievement Award
This award is presented to the top student who achieved the highest academic achievement in grade 7.

This award goes to the Grade 7 and 6 students with the highest standing in the Waterloo Mathematics Competition.
Grade 6 and 7 Excellence in Achievement Awards (Medals)
This award is presented at the Year End Assembly. The award is presented to the student in each class who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in English, French, Math, Science, Geography (Grade 7), History (Grade 7), Social Studies (Grade 6), Physical Education, Drama, Dance, Art, Music and Visual Arts.
Honour Roll (Certificates) –All Grades
In June, students who achieve a year average of 80% of higher will receive a certificate.
The Letter ‘M’ –All Grades
The letter ‘M’ is presented to those students who have achieved Good or Excellent in Learning Skills, has Regular Attendance/Punctuality and has a Level 3 or higher in overall academics, plus has participated in 3 or more of the following: Clubs, Sports, School Teams, Intramurals, Volunteering, Student Council, House Leader, Character Education Recipient, Student Ambassador, Committee Rep (i.e. Safe and Caring), School Productions/Assemblies, Special Activities (i.e. Math Waterloo Contest, Science Olympics, etc)
