Thanks to the David Suzuki Foundation and the Street Art Toronto Partnership Program, Dallington received an exterior mural focused on pollinators! Artist Nick Sweetman created and brought to life the beautiful mural in consultation with the community. Consultation included: introducing the artwork concept and talking about pollinators and the important plants we are planting in the surrounding area for them. He invited discussion, feedback, and questions about the mural. Based on feedback, Nick left the upper brick untouched allowing for the pollinators to float over the brick as well as reducing the scale.
Here is the pollinator mural design after consultation:
In the 2020-2021 school year, Nick visited the mural to add on a protective coating before the cold winter months.
