ELEMENTARY  PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY (PA) DAY

February 14, 2025

During the school year, TDSB school staff participate in several Professional Activity (PA) Days.  These days, while students remain at home, are an opportunity for staff to engage in professional learning or communication with parents through parent-teacher conferences, which directly impacts and enhances student learning.

As per the Ministry of Education’s Policy/Program Memorandum (PPM) 151, Professional Activity Days Devoted to Provincial Education Priorities, school boards must designate three as Ministry-mandated PA Days. This year, these PA days will focus on the priority areas of Literacy, Mathematics, Curriculum Implementation, Student Well-being, School Safety, and Violence Prevention. Staff’s participation during these days is crucial in achieving the TDSB’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan priorities.

Please find information about the February 14, 2025, PA Day below.

Friday, February 14, 2025

Description: Parent-teacher conferences are held to facilitate communication and collaboration between parents or guardians and teachers. The primary purpose of these conferences is to discuss a student’s academic progress, social development, and overall well-being. They provide an opportunity for parents and teachers to exchange information, celebrate successes, share concerns, and work together in the best interests of the student.
