Mental Health and Well Being
Mental Health and Well Being is very important to all of us at JDP! We are working hard to bring mindfulness techniques to our students. For example, Mrs. Mehangrey read several books to her students about feelings and emotions. They learned many strategies to calm themselves down when they feel upset and shared what they learned through art and writing. Their wonderful work is posted on our Mental Health and Well Being bulletin board in our hallway. Check it out! We have also noticed that many teachers are trying to incorporate wellness into their everyday life. You might see a few of them using a few minutes at lunch to go for a walk or to participate in a short yoga or fitness class. Taking a mental break is important for children and adults alike!
