Grade 8 Trip to Kearney

Kearney

Dear Families,

Our trip is fast approaching and we’re excited!

We will be meeting with the students on Wednesday to go over last minute details.

FYI. The TDSB’s Excursion system has had a lot of issues. On its own, it keeps sending out multiple messages indicating that parents need to complete forms or pay online. You do not need to do anything online.

All that was required from families included:

  • Pink paper excursion form completed, signed and returned
  • Green paper medical / dietary form completed, signed and returned (with the OHIP number)
  • Payment in cash, sealed and labelled in the white envelope provided, exact change please

Departure:

  • Your child should arrive at school by 8:15 a.m. on Friday, September 22nd. Please meet by the portables.

Arrival:

  • We should be returning to Regent Heights on Mon. September 25th between 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Updates will be made using X (Twitter) and by email. There is no need to call the school.
  • Please have someone meet and pick up your child. It is nice to be greeted after a long trip. Should your child be allowed to go home on their own or with someone else, please let us know in advance.

Some other reminders:

Medications:

  • Please send in any medication that will be needed to your child’s teacher by Thursday
    • Please label it with your child’s name and provide very clear instructions on how it is to be administered.
    • We will not be administering medicine based on a child’s instructions. Directions need to come from the parent.
    • Inhalers and epi-pens need to be sent with us.

Cell phone:

They are allowed for the bus rides, but students will need to turn them off and put them into a bin for the duration of the trip.
